That bittersweet moment has come where I must say good-bye to my fellow fashionistas and Flypaper fans. After four and a half amazing years at Bluefly — and a little over a year of blogging — I am leaving to pursue another opportunity. (Now here comes my Oscar thank you speech…)

Designer exclusives and collaborations are all the rage right now and this week I wanted to share my obsession with a brand you can only find on Bluefly: Hayden. My two favorite Hayden styles for spring are both romantic and girly yet understated — totally on-trend, but also timeless classics you’ll want to wear for seasons to come. They’re both featured in our Spring Sweater shoot.
The first Hayden cardigan has a great ruched, puff shoulder detail. I am wearing it in navy with a Free People pleated skirt, tights, and Oscar de la Renta shoes. My bag is Prada and the bracelet is Kenneth Jay Lane. The oyster-colored version is also quite pretty and perfect for spring — I posted a photo of it with my R.I.P. floral pants.
The second Hayden sweater I’m loving right now is this cashmere convertible style in pearl. Loosely twisted — like in the photo — and draped open are my favorite ways to wear it. (See how some of my co-workers like to wear it.) The baby pink color is really stunning on and it inspired me to keep the rest of my outfit neutral and feminine. I’m wearing Stuart Weitzman boots and bangles by Kenneth Jay Lane and Chamak by Priya Kakkar.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay, but I was unexpectedly sidelined by food poisoning earlier this week and have been completely useless for the past few days.
Anyway, I’m back now… and wearing denim, which I’ve been thinking about a lot as spring approaches. (Even though it’s supposed to be below freezing in New York for the rest of this week, spring is coming. I think…) I’ve decided instead of choosing between skinnies and flares, I’m making room for both in my closet this spring.

My go-to jean has become the skinny, and for this reason I like to buy a new pair each season. I don’t always throw out the old ones, but I do find that even the darkest wash tends to fade. It’s nice to have a crisp new pair, especially if you find yourself wearing them once or twice a week like I do. On the right is more of a polished wear-to-work look, and on the left is more of a casual rocked-out look. The jeans are Joe’s Jeans kennedy wash ‘Honey’ skinny jeans and they fit like a glove — as I’m sure you can see. :-)
For those of you out there who prefer a boot cut fit, I would recommend either Joe’s socialite bootcut or Joe’s dark wash ‘Honey’ bootcut.
I usually run away from flares since they tend eat up half of my already vertically-challenged body, but this season, they are EVERYWHERE thanks to the ’70s trend, so I’ve decided to compromise and look for a pair of slightly exaggerated bootcut jeans. In my quest, I came across these lovely 7 for All Mankind jeans, which are also in a petite cut! I love the shredded detail! I’m wearing them here with a little D&G flavor, i.e., paired with a ruffle button-front leopard blouse, black blazer, and platform Prada sandals. I love the mix of dressy and casual, although I’m not sure how ’70s this outfit looks. Oh well, there’s always next time…

Accessories make me smile. Even on the coldest and dreariest day — and we’ve been having quite a few of those! — a printed scarf and sparkly earrings never fail to pick me up.
Recently, I spotted some lovely printed scarves passing through our photo studio, and I just couldn’t help myself. I heard the iconic Missoni zigzag knit call my name (as did several striped and tie-dye Michael Stars styles).
I especially loved this Missoni infinity scarf with my grey DKNY wool coat — I think it adds the right amount of interest to an otherwise basic look. The purple wool tights are Prada (they are SO warm!), and the lace-studded sandals are Oscar de la Renta.
I added this Michael Stars tie-dye scarf as an accent to my ‘artsy-librarian’ outfit. Again, the tights are Prada and the shoes are Oscar; the cardigan is Theory.
I used a striped, fringe Michael Stars scarf to accessorize the boho outfit I wore yesterday. The tie-dye vest is Current/Elliot, the jeans are Sass & Bide, and purple booties are Bottega Veneta. The bangles are a mix of Kenneth Jay Lane and Chamak. On the right is more of a “city” look for those of you non-boho types — the pastel stripes really accent the black leather and dark grey jeans nicely.

But before I leave you, I’d like to honor one of my favorite pairs of pants which I had to retire over the weekend. Last Friday night, they ripped down the back when I slipped on a patch of black ice. I cannot tell you how many compliments I received when I wore them, and I will truly miss them. Rest in peace, floral pants. They were last worn with this Hayden cashmere sweater.

This week I’ve been thinking about bags, and specifically the baby-sized ones. Personally, I’m a ‘bigger is better’ kind of bag girl, but over the fall season (and now going into spring), I’ve noticed a veritable shift from large bags to small ones. Around here we like to call them ‘designer babies’ because some of them literally look like the offspring of two regular-sized designer bags (as Kimora Lee Simmons said of her mirror Louis Vuitton totes in her Closet Confession)! But regardless of what kind of bag girl you are, there’s no denying these cuties are having a fashion moment.
My designer baby pick is this Dolce & Gabbana denim and lace bag . I love how the chain strap doubles as bling and makes other accessorizing unnecessary.

For those of you trying to give up big bags for spring, like me, I like the YSL brown suede ‘Chyc’ bag — it’s small-er, but you can still fit stuff in it.
Next week I’m obsessing over scarves. A bunch of Missoni and Michael Stars styles just went up onsite, and I am head over my goat hair Alexander Wang boots for them!

As I mentioned in my last post, one of my fashion resolutions for 2011 is to shop my closet more and maximize the pieces I already have. With that in mind, I used the MLK day off to take stock of everything in my closet, clear out stuff I don’t wear anymore, and rearrange pieces by versatility i.e. ‘expected number of wears.’
It seems that layering pieces, such as lightweight knits and sweaters are going to be key for me this winter and spring. The majority of items with the highest ‘expected number of wears’ in my closet were paper-thin cashmere and super soft silk-blend sweaters, like this Autumn Cashmere striped number — which I wore to work last Friday.
The cute scrunchy cashmere scarf is by Sayami and the bangles are Chamak. My bag is Prada and the shoes are Elizabeth & James.
When it warms up some, I’m thinking of re-wearing the Autumn Cashmere sweater this way — sort of a ‘Flirty-French’ look.
The sandals are Prada and the chunky bracelet is Paige Novick– I am in love with her stuff!

Happy New Year, everyone!
After a luscious vacation in Hawaii I can’t say I’m thrilled to be back in frigid NYC, but I am looking forward to another year of fashion — especially the trends and shows — and style-stalking around one of the most chic and fashion-savvy cities. I’m also excited about my own fashion resolutions, which are:
1. To do more with less. I recently noticed that my closets (yes, plural) are on the verge of exploding. Last summer, my shoe collection expanded to the living room, though they are stealthily hid on a shoe rack under the bar…

2. To define my personal style. I’ve loved clothes, shoes, and putting together cute outfits for as long as I can remember, but my approach always been a bit schizo. For example, I find myself dressing really “rocker” one day, then like a hippie the next, followed by sequins & fur, bright colors…then back to rocker again. So this year, I am focused on finding the intersection of my fashion Venn diagram. Hopefully, I’ll find it without buying too much excess crap!
So far (and yes, I know we are just 2 weeks into January), things seem off to a good and focused start. Here I am wearing taupe lace-detailed Stuart Weitzman boots* over skinny jeans and a black blazer over a coral ruffle-detail blouse. The bracelet is Giles & Brother and the bag is Prada. On the right, I am sporting my cold weather BFF, a Blue Duck shearling coat.

I celebrated my birthday last week — my 25th one again, of course! — and my sweet husband gifted me a lovely Prada bag. I’ve been ‘needing’ a new black work/everyday bag as my black Fendi spy bag is literally fading. There are worn-out grey spots on the seams after four years of use and I felt it was time to retire it with the other treasured bags that came before it, like my Kate Spade messenger bag which lost its cool the minute I graduated from college and my 2001 Miu Miu doctor’s bag which had one too many drinks spilled on it.
I am *completely* in love with my new Prada, and as you can see, it works as a tote and as a messenger bag. The messenger piece of it has been fantastic because I’ve been able keep my hands warm in my pockets as I walk to and from the subway. So far I’ve used it everyday since opening it!

I’ll be off on vacation for the next couple of weeks, but wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you get everything you wish for and see you in 2011 with more obsessions!

Wyatt’s a relatively new brand to Bluefly and this winter I’m falling hard for their cozy cashmere, thoughtfully embellished, and ‘of-the-moment’ printed dresses.
Here are my current faves…
1. Wyatt embellished-shoulder dress

As you all know, I’m a sucker for sparkle so naturally this dress was love at first sight. To give a little more shape and polish to the dress, I belted it, but I think it would also work well without the belt for a more casual look over skinny jeans or leggings. My other loves featured in these photos are my Alexander Wang goat-hair boots — aren’t they awesome???
2. Wyatt zip-front cashmere sweater dress

I love the charcoal color, the cute collar detail and the edginess of the zip-front. Since I’m petite, I used my trusty Fendi belt to give the dress a little more shape — in fact,come to think of it, I wore this skinny belt with every Wyatt dress!
3. Wyatt chrysanthemum-print wrap dress

I love the print and vibrant colors as well as the darling ruffle detail across the top of this dress. This dress ran a little long on me and to shorten it I used my Fendi skinny belt — which is hidden under the top fold of the dress. I like my dresses, shorts and skirts to cut my legs above the knee; otherwise I end up looking like a whole foot shorter! The patent platform pumps are Prada.
Other Wyatt faves include a Grecian draped number in olive, a black body-con style, and a military-inspired dress in blackberry.
