After taking flight after the Golden Globes last week, actor Ewan McGregor was spotted out and about in New York on Tuesday. The photogs caught up with the Salmon Fishing in Yemen star yesterday, as he headed out of his Manhattan hotel. Dressed in a casual city ensemble of dark jeans, oxfords and a striped sweater, Ewan looked quite fashion forward during his leisurely stroll around the Big Apple.

Though we haven’t seen much of Nicky Hilton since she spent her holidays in Aspen, the stylish socialite stepped out and about yesterdayfor a shopping spree at Barney’s in Beverly Hills. Donning a bold and bright sweater with dark skinny jeans, Nicky made a casual fashion statement of her own on Tuesday afternoon, after she stepped out of the luxury department store with shopping bag in tow.

Zach Braff is across the pond in London, and he greeted fans (and paparazzi) as he made his way into ITV Studios for an interview on ‘This Morning.’

Zach looks like he’s into fashion, if this outfit is any indication. The former ‘Scrubs’ star is looking good!

Fly or ‘Bye: Hillary Duff’s Sweater

Hilary Duff’s baby bump is completely hidden under what looks like an incredibly comfortable knit wrap. That would keep a chilly breeze out on the west coast! (Now on the east coast she’d be shivering, but that’s a different story).

Hilary was out running some errands: maybe picking up a few last-minute holiday gifts? I’m sure at least some of you are in the same position. I know I am- LOL. I’d take that bag Hilary’s carrying for a present!

Zachary Quinto Embraces the Fair Isle Sweater Weather

Zachary Quinto was spotted out and about with an unidentified man yesterday (check out the thumbnails). It looks like Zachary is ready for fall with his sweater! I didn’t know they had fall in LA.

Have you checked out ‘American Horror Story,’ Zachary’s new show? I’ve heard it’s scary in a great way. He’ll always be Sylar from ‘Heroes’ for me, although he was a very convincing Dr. Spock in ‘Star Trek,’ too.

Sweater Trend: One Dip of Dye Is Not Enough

The latest trend in sweaters is overdyed. Sounds like a weird concept, but it’s quite simple–the sweater is dipped in the dye multiple times. This action creates a vintage looking effect without having to have the sweater for years. The zip front sweater by Harrison featured above is a simple addition to any outfit. With the cold weather creeping up on us (I’m not looking forward either) this is a fashionable way to stay warm.

Sweater Trend: Ferocious Leopard Prints

J'adore tu!

Sweaters don’t have to be boring! Spice up your cold weather look with animal prints, bright colors, and unique details. Crumpet’s Leopard cashmere sweater on Net-a-Porter is a great way to let your wild side show during the winter months. You should also check out Magaschoni and Hayden for their take on printed sweaters.

Sweater Trend: The Funky Pattern Has a Funky Name–Intarsia

TAG

Ok, I know your mental image is of a Weasley-esque sweater (bonus points if you love this reference) with your monogram in the center. Quite frankly, you have not experienced the world of an intarsia sweater. Rich patterns, fun shaped prints and assortment of colors define intarsia sweaters. The sweater featured above by Sandro embraces a funky pattern with fall’s trendy colors. A great piece to add to your closet! Other brands to look out for are C3 collection and Relwen.

Sweater Trend: Not Your Grandma’s Hand-Knits

Personal Style Guide

Want the love that grandma puts into knitting a sweater, but not the old lady vibe? Hand-knit sweaters are haute this season thanks to hand-sewn links and seams which basically make each sweater a one of a kind piece.

The sweater by Calypso featured above is great lightweight layer to add to a look. Other brands with hand-knit sweater options include Hayden and Wyatt.
