Bright Blue For You

If you’ve been reading the past posts on Fly & Mighty and look out for the lastest trends, you know colored denim is the biggest trend this season. It’s also the most fun!

Even though red is color seen the most this season (by celebs and fashionistas), bright blue is a close second. Go bold with a bright blue–you’ll obtain more compliments on the color than you can count! Don’t you just want to tell Justine Couvillion (above) that her pants rock?

The street style of NYFW Fall 2012 is pouring in! What’s being spotted? First up, funky patterned coats. Instead of a solid color, looks like trendsetters are going for coats with a little more punch! Here we have Lisa Salzer (a jewelry designer) and Nancy Rosenbloom (Account Executive, Rag & Bone) sporting this chic look.

The quintessential New York look is all black. Friends from other cities all comment, “Does everyone just wear black?” Obviously everyone has their own personal style in New York, but I will have to agree–New Yorkers do wear a lot of black. I’m definitely a victim of these conception.

See Anna Dello Russo (Fashion Director / Creative Consultant, Vogue Nippon) and Bette Franke (Model) embrace an all black attire.

A Teaspoon of Inspiration

…Brought to you by black, the color. First a salute to white footwear, now this: I’ve recently found myself pretty driven by the color, most particularly because it’s hard to recognize the power of texture–a prevailing play on pre-fall runways which may explain the monochromatic nature of Alexander Wang’s collection–and black lends itself pretty well to doing just that.
The stigma attached to it may represent an apprehension to test color in favor of taking an easier route but ultimately, there’s nothing specifically easy about a silk satin peplum blouse, wool pants and big ass fur draped across the arm. Taylor’s got a leg up on mankind as her hair adds the obligatory jolt of color that most mortals can’t perfect. But let’s suspend that small detail, acknowledge a blue clutch, and move forward.

To the inclusion of denim and silver hardware on gold hardware. Now that we’re here though, I don’t have much else to say except for holy yum, Celine, Dries, Dries, Celine. You’re so good, everything, having a moment. Fashion, et al.

Everyone should own a blazer. It instantly polishes whatever you’re wearing right up.  Here’s Laurel Pantin (Beauty Assistant, Teen Vogue), Jacquelyn Jablonski (model), and Mohamad Ayoubi donning the dapper garment.

Bright red is trending in skinny jeans, and it seems to be popular in t-shirts and cut-off short-shorts as well. Click through to see how Andrea Diaconu (model), Stephanie Lacava (Fashion Journalist / Writer) and Ruby Aldridge (model) don the color.

Andreea Diaconu

Here’s Andreea Diaconu outside Ruffian Spring/Summer 2012. This past fashion week she also walked in Diesel, DKNY, Ralph Lauren and more! She was even featured in the Holiday 2011 Ralph Lauren campaign.

Glamour Magazine’s Maria Duenas Jacobs Has Punchy Style

Sometimes the strongest punches come in tiny packages. In the case of Glamour accessories editor Maria Duenas Jacobs, killer style and a lithe frame make for one hell of a punch. Jacobs enjoys traveling which is reflected in her ever-eclectic style. She always add her signature girlish-ness to each of her outfits – which is why she has become a darling among the street style photographers. Where there is Maria, there is both glamour and Glamour.

Parisa Does It All

I met Parisa a little over a year ago in London and at that time she owned a boutique shop. I’m happy to see that in conjunction with her husband, who also loves fashion, she’s now starting her own line and will be available around the Autumn 2012 season. And get this; she used to be in the dentistry profession before venturing into her passion. This woman is amazing!

Ruby Aldridge Gets in the Groove

Ruby is extremely down to earth as she danced her way out of Palais de Tokyo. I find the venue fairly tricky to photograph at, but this was the result of that attempt. Also, what a mischievous smile!
