Perhaps inspired by little sis Solange’s photo-rific Tumblr or feeling more open since the birth of her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, the notoriously private Beyonce is sharing her world in pictures on her new Tumblr blog. Calling the blog “I am”, as part of her new website, the Tumblr feed features personal photos of the star vacationing with her sister, nephew, and husband Jay-Z, as well as what looks like outtakes from photo and video shoots. No pics of Blue Ivy are to be found, except when she was in her mother’s belly, but perhaps that will change. In the singer’s note about her blog, she writes: “This will continue to grow as I do.”
The new blog and site–Beyonce.com–are not to be confused with the singer’s other online home BeyonceOnline.com. Beyonce.com is a “newly personal view into her world, for you, by her”, site text explains, with access to her “vault” of music and photos, and notices of upcoming performances, complete with a “Beyhive“, a fan-driven “colony” of “Beys”. Fans are encouraged to tweet Beyhive-suggested hashtags; drawings of the singer presumably created by fans are showvased, and there’s a breakdown of the kinds of “Beys” her fans are in an “encycloBeydia” of sorts.
Lest anyone get it twisted, the “Queen Bey” is Beyonce herself. “Honey Beys”? They’re “the calm bunch of the beyhive,” she site explains, “drama free… sweet like honey.” What’s a “Bumble Bey” you ask? A Bey that’s sweet as honey–unless you sting the Queen. ”Digger Beys” are “hardworking Beys… [that] dig high and low for pollen on the Queen Bey” (“pollen” being facts and stats). Wasps, the site explains, are haters.
Wow! From Gwyneth Paltrow (in Tom Ford) to Tina Fey (in Carolina Herrera) and Angelina Jolie (in Atelier Versace), the stars have ended awards season with a biggity-bang, hitting the Oscars red carpet in unexpected stunners. But it wasn’t just the usual suspects who stunned. E!’s Giuliana Rancic pierced the bubble that separates the red carpet stars from those covering the red carpet in a beautiful Basil Soda gown, while nominee Glenn Close brought the haute in an hourglass forest green Zac Posen dress with jacket to match. Here are my top 10 Best Dressed.
First off, Gwyneth Paltrow went Tilda Swinton on us — and by Tilda Swinton, I mean I-don’t-give-f@$!-daring — cutting a sharp figure in a sleek white Tom Ford column with cape to match. In my opinion, she has never looked better.
2. TINA FEY
Tina Fey in Carolina Herrera
And speaking of never-looked-better, Tina Fey hit this one out of the park. The peplum silhouette is perfect on the 30 Rock star and I absolutely love the updo and colored stones.
3. MILLA JOVOVICH
Milla Jovovich in Elie Saab
The actress, model, and kick-ass singer looks flawless in this stunning one-shoulder Elie Saab, complete with box clutch, blinging cuff, and oversized finger rock.
4. MICHELLE WILLIAMS
Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
Fresh off her Independent Spirit Award win, Best Actress nominee Michelle Williams looks beautiful in coral Louis Vuitton. One small nitpick: a different color clutch (black? beige? gold?) would have taken the look even higher.
5. ANGELINA JOLIE
Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace
Angelina Jolie’s structured Atelier Versace gown manages to hint at Victorian era conservatism (the padded hips) and evoke Vegas showgirl sass at the same time thanks to the thigh-high slit. Of course, she looks fantastic — and like she’s having the time of her life.
Giuliana Rancic crossed the red carpet line this Oscars, rocking a beautiful leaf-detail Basil Soda gown that rivaled many of the red carpet looks she was critiquing as host of E!’s Fashion Police.
7. STACY KEIBLER
Stacy Keibler in Marchesa
George Clooney’s date Stacy Keibler rocked the red carpet draped in metallic Marchesa. I absolutely love the illusion rosette and hanging shoulder detail.
8. GLENN CLOSE
Glenn Close in Zac Posen
Glenn Close looks absolutely incredible in this dark green dart-detailed Zac Posen dress. The blazer is a nice menswear touch considering she’s nominated for her titular role as a woman passing as a man in Albert Nobbs.
9. PHARRELL WILLIAMS
Grammy-winning producer Pharrell Williams
I know this list is usually reserved for the ladies, but Grammy-winning producer Pharrell Williams looks sharp! Digging the trimmed lapels and oversized bow-tie.
10. JENNIFER LOPEZ
Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad
It was hard to decide between Jennifer Lopez and Emma Stone (The Help star looked poised for her own future Oscar domination in her garnet red Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown), mainly because JLo’s been looking so amazing on American Idol this season, I’m almost underwhelmed. But this sheer- and bling-striped body-conscious gown wins by a hair. And speaking of, her updo is the perfect counterpoint to the risque neckline.

Tonight’s Best Dressed were not the usual suspects. With Beyonce on Mommy duty and Kanye West not in attendance, there was room for newcomers and unexpected divas to get the attention they deserve. But before I jump into the list, I have to single out some of the “whoa, huh, what?” moments.
As usual there was a lot going on in terms of fashion at the Grammys. Nicki Minaj hit the red carpet shrouded in a voluminous, hooded crimson get-up embroidered with what looked like the Versace crest. Her date? An impersonator of the Pope. Meanwhile, Fergie, who picked up a Grammy for co-writing Kanye and Rihanna’s hit “All of the Lights” showed up in black underwear covered by a completely see-through lace dress by Jean Paul Gaultier. I think nude underwear or even undies the same color of the lace would have been way more appropriate, or how about a slip? We did not need to know Fergie wears granny panties.
In terms of trends, three-quarter sleeves, and embroidery/embellishment were huge, gladiator-reference jewelry too with Alicia Keys and Gwyneth Paltrow rocking a heavy gold neck plate and belt, respectively. And now, without further adieu, here are my Top 10 Faves. As always, let me know who I left off the list.
Going into the telecast with six nominations, Adele is the bride of the night, and every bride looks gorgeous on her wedding day, no matter what she wears. From the thick tumble of curls framing her face to the slash of red lipstick to her glittering three-quarter-sleeved custom Giorgio Armani gown, she has never looked better. What’s even cooler about the look is that it remains true to her trademark penchant for retro black dresses. It would seem hard to keep such a classic look fresh, but she pulled it off.
Adele looks magnificent in this glittering, three quarter-sleeved black maxi gown
2. TAYLOR SWIFT
Taylor Swift tops my list just for ditching her usual Shirley Temple ringlets and princess dress. With her hair swept up and away from her beautiful face, her high-collared embroidered Zuhair Murad gown looks even more stunning on her.
Taylor Swift in a departure from her usual Shirley Temple ringlets & princess dress
Kelly Osbourne keeps topping herself this awards season
4. PARIS HILTON
This Basil Soda gown was made for Paris Hilton! The cap-sleeves show off her long, toned arms, and the elongated mermaid really silhouette flatters her shape. Who knew Paris Hilton had a little Sofia Vergara going on?
Paris Hilton in a Basil Soda gown
5. CORINNE BAILEY RAE
Corinne’s Christian Siriano dress perfectly evokes the spunk of the Grammy Awards.
Corinne Bailey Rae in Christian Siriano
6. GWYNETH PALTROW
Between her slicked back ponytail and the cut-out detail of her Stella McCartney gown, this is one of my fave looks on Gwyneth. Ever!
Gwyneth Paltrow backstage at the Grammys
The Best R&B Album nominee hit the awards show in a gorgeous sequin gown with herringbone detail.
Love herringbone detail on Ledisi's dress
For tonight’s live telecast, Rihanna let go of the red and returned to blonde, channelling Michelle Pfeiffer’s Scarface character Elvira Hancock in this gown she co-designed with Giorgio Armani. “We’ve been working together a long time, he trusts me now [sic],” Rihanna told Ryan Seacrest on E!’s pre-show. The gold cuff and clutch perfectly accessorize the look.
Rihanna says she was going for "Elvira Hancock"'s look in this "gangsta" Armani gown
9. KATY PERRY
This embroidered Elie Saab dress could have felt bridesmaid-y because of the bow and color, but with the blue updo, Katy Perry is rocking.
Katy Perry in blue Elie Saab with matching updo
10. MARSHA AMBROSIUS
Between her embroidered silver mini with matching metal pumps, and her curly red bob which matches her manicure, Ambrosius looks more than ready for her close-up.
Chaka Khan, Minka Kelly, Gloria Estefan backstage at Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection 2012 Fashion Show
It’s been 10 seasons since the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute launched the Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show to raise awareness of the danger heart disease poses to women in particular — according to the site, it’s the #1 killer of women — and celebrity heavyhitters came out to support, and model in, the anniversary event held at Manhattan’s Hammerstein Ballroom. Gloria Estefan joined fellow songstress Chaka Khan on the stage as veteran models Christie Brinkley and Rebecca Romijn also catwalked for the cause. Emerging stars, Lala Anthony and Minka Kelly were also on hand to strut in red designer gowns. Nice start to what should be a fun Fashion Week!

The stars hit the SAG Awards Red Carpet in pieces you don’t normally see them in. The Help‘s Viola Davis usually goes for a stately look — tonight she was smoldering in a cleavage-announcing Marchesa gown. Bridesmaids star Rose Byrne made a bold choice too — a white sequins jumpsuit by Elie Saab she says she was inspired to wear because of her bob. I was going for Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface, she explained to E!’s correspondents on the red carpet. My Week with Marilyn nominee Michelle Williams tends to rock a quirky, haute-marm look at awards shows, but tonight, she dressed to her haircut too, matching the delicacy of her pixie cut with a lace-detail Valentino gown with an asymmetrical hem that showed off her ruby shoes. She looked stunning. I think the ladies below were the best of the best.
Emma Stone looking adorably kitsch
Even though Emma Stone didn’t pick up a nod for her star turn in The Help, it’s clears she’s having no trouble getting A-list designers to dress her. She hit the red carpet in a custom Alexander McQueen frock with a killer clutch that looked like it was literally eating her hand. It was a don’t-you-forget-about-me look, and it was successful.
Michelle Williams went with a lipstick red Valentino gown that was true to her fashion-forward style, and complimented her ethereal pixie cute — a perfect mix of “Marilyn” and Michelle.
I’m curious to know if I’m in the minority here, but I LOVED Rose Byrne’s sequins jumpsuit. It was ballsy and unexpected — in a good way. What do you think?
Sofia Vergara in Marchesa — a popular designer of the night
While other stars experimented with different shapes and colors, Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara stuck to the hourglass silhouette that flatters her figure. She played up the look with berry-colored Lorraine Schwartz bling.

Aw, cute group huddle by The Help crew. What was your fave moment of the night?
Okay, shockers all around tonight. The Descendants picked up the Critics Choice and the Golden Globe, but tonight is for The Help.
Wow! WHO is going to win the Best Actress Oscar? We keep getting teased — Viola, Meryl, and again Viola!
Viola Davis in Marchesa
Shocker! Jean DuJardin beat out George Clooney! The Oscars are going to be interesting.
JUST when I narrowed down my best dressed – I see Natalie Portman. I like how she is making the oversized flourish (florette, bow, etc) her signature.
Confession, I’m yet to watch Boardwalk Empire; but I LOVE Game of Thrones!!
I want to like Zoe Saldana’s sheer white gown, but it just seems like a lot. Looks like one of those dresses that look amazing in person, but just aren’t photogenic.
The Help ladies are really looking slamming tonight from Jessica Chastain to Emma Stone. Loving Emma’s kitsch look, especially her clutch!
I know the folks at Taittinger were psyched about that prominent placement when Diane Lane was nominated.
Congratulations to Octavia Spencer who is cleaning up this awards season! The Oscar nominee has won the Critics Choice Award, the Golden Globe, and now the SAG. She also cleans up nice. Love this Tadashi Shoji ensemble and her commitment to the brand that was offering her clothes before she became a belle of the awards season ball. Spencer told People, ”I’m all about being loyal to the people who gave me free clothes for the publicity tour when there was nothing in it for them. … I love it that the other people are clamoring but when I needed something, they weren’t there… My mom always taught us to dance with the one that brought you…”
Octavia Spencer says of her loyalty to Tadashi Shoji, "I'm all about being loyal to the people who gave me free clothes for the publicity tour when there was nothing in it for them."
Christopher Plummer gives the best/randiest speeches! Thoughts on his scarlet pocket square??
Christopher Plummer rocking a randy red pocket square
Who do you think rocked the Red Carpet? My faves were Rose Byrne in Elie Saab, Michelle Williams in Valentino, and Sofia Vergara in Marchesa.
Angelina Jolie in Jenny Packham with nominee/boo Brad Pitt
Meryl Streep is so awesome. That is all.
The bob is really trending! Cameron Diaz has chopped her locks to There’s Something About Mary proportions, Rose Byrne is rocking the Michelle Pfeiffer circa Scarface, and Steve Carrell’s wife Nancy has chopped her locks too. All looking sharp.
Emily Blunt (in Oscar de la Renta) just got hubby John Krasinski to dance. Please don’t get a divorce, guys!
Emily Blunt & John Krasinski, you're so cute -- please don't get a divorce!
George Clooney is 50?!! Wow. 50 did not look like that when I was a kid. Stacy Keibler looks great in Marchesa. Marchesa dressed a lot of the stars who’ll be visible tonight.
Sofia Vergara just clarified she didn’t go pantie-less at the Globes. It was a G-string. Now that we’ve cleared that up, she’s wearing a structured fuchsia Marchesa hourglass gown with matching Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Sofia Vergara in Marchesa -- a popular designer of the night
Michelle Williams made a great choice with Valentino. She seems really nervous chatting with Giuliana — I guess I assume stars are comfortable with all the attention they get, but clearly not always the case.
Love the delicate lace detail on Michelle Williams' Valentino dress
I love Kristen Wiig’s Balenciaga dress so much, but I want to yank the Fred Leighton collar off. It’s all I can focus on.
First peek at Michelle Williams in a lace-shoulder poppy/red column dress. The color really suits her — glad she didn’t go for a dark/heavy fabric as per usual. Her pixie cut goes with light, airy, ethereal fabrics and colors.
Viola Davis looks smoking hot in white Marchesa with gold-leaf embellishment at the bodice. She’s keeping it real that her Jimmy Choo sandals are “as comfortable as they can get.”
Seems like designers should skip Rachel Zoe/Brad Goreski and go straight to celebs’ kids. Sarah Michelle Gellar’s daughter suggested she wear the crayon-print Monique Lhullier to the Globes; and Julie Bowen’s son wasn’t a fan of the Judith Leiber bag she planned to wear with her backless Temperley gown.
Rose Byrne in a white sequins jumpsuit by Elie Saab! I’m kind of in LOVE with it.
Bridesmaids' Rose Byrne says she was going for a Scarface look with her white Elie Saab jumpsuit and sharp bob haircut
Ok, confession. I took an early dinner break — back just in time to see Bobby and Sue Ellen (Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray)
Who knew? The Red Carpet bleeds on dresses? Giuliana Rancic just explained that’s why she usually wears red. I like the gold “cracked” necklace Giuliana Rancic is wearing with her Basil Soda dress and her hair color.
When comedian Rainn Wilson jokingly compared Giuliana Rancic's necklace to an amulet, she warned "Don't try me."
I know Kelly Osbourne’s grey hair isn’t popular, but I can’t believe I’m digging it! She looks really good in her creamy white Badgley Mischka gown.
I know her grey hair is unpopular, but I'm loving it with her white Badgley Mischka
WOW – very impressed that E! correspondent Ross Matthews is rocking an H&M suit. Sharp!

Tonight’s Golden Globes Red Carpet was one of the Best Dressed in recent memory mostly because there were few clones. Largely ditching the safety of princess silhouettes and one shoulder gowns, the stars came out in unique expressions of their personal style. Zooey Deschanel wore a bold custom Prada gown with an embellished spray of green and black on the blouse of her dress. Likewise Tilda Swinton opted for a periwinkle structured jacket with a soft maxi skirt spilling out from underneath it. Not everyone’s look was a hit–Glee star Dianna Agron’s red dress composed of laser cut swans was beautiful in detail, but A LOT for the eye to take in. And Tilda Swinton’s aforementioned look also gave the eye a lot to absorb, but then that’s the charm of Tilda–she doesn’t give a f@$K!
As individual as the looks were, there were some trends: scooped out backs (Julianna Margulies, Heidi Klum, Nicole Richie), sparkling headbands (Michelle Williams and Charlize Theron), statement clutches (see Angelina Jolie’s sanguine bag), and mermaid silhouettes (Sofia Vergara, Kelly Osbourne, and Reese Witherspoon. Windblown hair/bed head was big too with Stacy Keibler and Reese Witherspoon rocking sexily mussed-up coifs. All said, I’ve settled on my shortlist of the Best Dressed on the Red Carpet. Who am I missing? Who do you think was the flyest?
Charlize Theron rocking a gown that’s cocktail party in the front-evening gala in the back
Charlize Theron may not have won for her role in Young Adult, but the Golden Globe nominee killed it on the carpet, summoning her dancer past in a swinging costume gown by Dior with a cocktail length hem in the front, and floating train in the back, complete with sparkling headband.
Angelina’s contrast colored napkin neckline is heat!!
Angelina Jolie looked pretty fly & mighty in her champagne colored gown with Grecian detail and crimson contrast napkin bodice.
Golden Globe nominee Rooney Mara hit the red carpet in Nina Ricci
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo nominee continued her goth-chic streak on the Golden Globes red carpet in a Nina Ricci gown.
Julianna Margulies shoulder rolls on the Golden Globes Red Carpet
The combination of long sleeves and a scooped out back is a winning one for Julianna Margulies.
Kelly Osbourne, in Zac Posen, did a spin on E!’s glam cam at the 2012 Golden Globes
As one of the first celebs to hit the red carpet, E!’s Fashion Police correspondent Kelly Osbourne set the tone of the night in a sleek, sharp-shouldered Zac Posen gown.

I take my Hollywood Foreign Press/Critics Choice Movie Awards back. The Descendants beat out The Help for the win. Curious to see who breaks the tie at the Oscars if both films are nominated.
With the exception of Viola Davis, the Hollywood Foreign Press has pretty much voted like the titular critics at the Critics Choice Movie Awards. George Clooney won the Best Actor – Drama award; shared some choice words about fellow nominee Michael Fassbender’s frontal nudity in his acceptance speech. Seems Ricky Gervais’ filterless spew is catching.
George Clooney won the Golden Globe for his lead performance in The Descendants
I’m assuming that dog was in The Artist?
Jane Fonda: Are there any words to express how fly she is?
Whoa! I felt sure Viola Davis was going to win! Congrats to Meryl Streep. She certainly does kill it every time.
We’re getting to the silly hour now. Ricky Gervais has brought a half-full glass of beer (?) onstage.

Go, Matt “Joey” LeBlanc – Best Actor in a TV Series or Musical!!
Ouch! We heard that jab at Ricky Gervais, Madonna! Congrats to Claire Danes on her Homeland win!
The Gleek in me loved Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy’s little duet!
Will they forever cut to Angelina Jolie/Brad Pitt when either of them takes the stage?
Congrats to Madonna for her Best Original Score win! Amazing that Guy Oseary is still her manager!!
Dueling bowties on the screen right now. What are your thoughts on Adam Levine’s healthy bow tie versus Jimmy Fallon’s slimmer neckpiece?

I confess, I didn’t catch any of these nominated miniseries, except for a snippet of Too Big to Fail. Did Downtown Abbey deserve the win?

And the Tilda Swinton award goes to Johnny Depp!
Get ready for the deluge of death tweets from the #Beliebers. Ricky Gervais just questioned Justin Bieber’s manhood.
Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais and his wife
Ricky Gervais has opened with a dig at the Golden Globes (it’s a second rate Oscars), Kim Kardashian (she’s a second rate Kate Middleton), and Eddie Murphy (he said yes to Norbit, but no to the Oscars).
My tops on the carpet: Charlize Theron (Dior), Rooney Mara (Nina Ricci), Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek (Gucci), and Julianna Margulies. Oh, and Kate Beckinsale. Yours?
I always count on Tilda Swinton to wear whatever the f@$K she wants at these things!
Oh, Tilda Swinton, I love you!
Love the laser cut swan detail of Dianna Agron’s red gown, but this is another dress that probably looks better in person.
The big trends: scooped out backs (Nicole Richie, Heidi Klum, Claire Danes), dark metallic blue (Kelly Osbourne, Sofia Vergara), canary yellow (Maria Menounos, Paula Patton), flesh tones (Charlize Theron, Julie Bowen), Rat Pack (Ricky Gervais, Jonah Hill), contrast color napkin bodices (Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman)
Michelle Williams in velvet Jason Wu complete with headband. I think this is one of those dresses that looks better in person, but on screen, the flash bulbs just aren’t catching the Wu in the most flattering light. Thoughts?
Charlize Theron is my favorite so far!! You?
Charlize Theron rocking a gown that's cocktail party in the front-evening gala in the back
The Deschanel sisters hit the carpet together. LOVE Zooey’s custom Prada gown (and her tuxedo manicure), but I know it’s one of those controversial picks. What do you think?
What do you think of Zooey Deschanel's green and black custom Prada gown?
Let’s talk about the dudes for a second. Ricky Gervais’ burgundy smoking jacket-esque suit with black shirt is in line with the Rat Pack look many of the men are conjuring. Thoughts??
It’s Golden Globe nominee Shailene Woodley’s first time at the Globes and The Descendants star hit out of the park in Marchesa. What do you think?
The Descendants' Shailene Woodley in Marchesa at her first Golden Globes
Brangelina in the building! LOVE Angelina Jolie’s gown – the contrast colored napkin neckline is heat!

Rooney Mara + Nina Ricci = Stunning!
Golden Globe nominee Rooney Mara hit the red carpet in Nina Ricci
So funny! You can always tell when E!’s hosts are not feeling the celebs’ looks when they ask, “how many dresses did you choose?” as Ryan asked Nicole Richie and Giuliana Rancic asked of Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier. What do you think of Nicole’s look?
Nicole Richie in a metallic Julien MacDonald gown with House of Harlow clutch
There are some BIG skirts on the red carpet. Perf for hiding the silverware in.
Piper Perabo in a full-skirted sheer gown
Is Rachel Zoe responsible for all the sexy backs that are hitting the red carpet tonight? Claire Danes, Julianna Margulies, both going backless tonight. UPDATE: Nicole Richie’s Julien MacDonald has a scooped out back too.
Julianna Margulies has every right to give the shoulder roll–she looks stunning in her long sleeve eggplant gown.

No tardies for the red carpet party tonight! George Clooney and Stacy Keibler have hit the Golden Globes carpet already.

Wow! Giuliana Rancic has already switched up her look for the night in a nude Basil Soda gown.
It’s about to be on on the Golden Globes Red Carpet tonight as Angelina Jolie, Emma Stone, and Jessica Chastain are set to hit the Red Carpet. The pre-show isn’t too shabby either. E!’s Kelly Osbourne is wearing the sickest (as in flyest) Zac Posen gown. Between the sharp Jetson shoulders, metallic blue hue, and mermaid shape, Kelly has never looked better! Loving her grey updo too. What do you think–should she have worn her hair up or down?

Beyonce Knowles announced her pregnancy at the MTV's VMAs in 2011.
According to the NY Daily News, Beyonce checked into Manhattan’s Lenox Hill Hospital under the name “Ingrid Jackson” on Saturday January 7th and rented out the hospital’s entire fourth floor to give birth to her first child. Employees were allegedly asked to turn in their cell phones, and security cameras were taped up to prevent images from leaking. There was initially some confusion as to whether the girl’s name was “Blue Ivy” or “Ivy Blue” – Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted to confirm the newborn’s name is Blue Ivy. Beyonce’s sister Solange tweeted presumably of her newborn niece: “the most beautiful girl in the world.”
