They’re an easy way to give a casual look some edge, and we love the way the fashionista below paired her flares with a tucked in shirt and easy leather jacket. We suggest wearing your highest leather clogs or your favorite platforms for extra leg extension.

It’s all about a fur vest and some shine this winter. Earlier this month we caught up with celebrity gossip blogger Micah Jesse sporting a fur vest at the launch of Diesel’s collaboration collection with singer Uffie. (Diesel and Uffie came together to create denim and leather pieces for the hipster set.) At the same event we spotted this fashionista wearing a sparkly, camera flash-catching dress. Some of the other major trends we spotted in the stylishly decked out crowd were animal prints, metallic pieces and thick-framed glasses.

His name is Phearse and his outfit is fly. I caught him in between classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and asked him to pose for a photo. I love how Terrence has outfitted himself with fab vintage finds like his fur stole and pageboy hat, and paired them with new pieces (I’m obsessed with his leather cape jacket!).

This woman is a fixture at every Fashion Week. She shoots pictures of anyone wearing an interesting outfit — probably because she’s always got something badass on. I loved the “MAP BROOKLYN” letter necklace and silver sneakers further “funkdafying” her denim jumpsuit.

I spotted model Charlotte Kemp Muhl wearing this hooded watercolor dress with interesting shirt cuff detailing and accessorized it with a skinny white belt. I shot this last February at Michael Angel’s Fall 2010 show so I can’t remember if this beaded bib is part of the dress or not, but I remember digging the drama and ballsiness of the get-up.

I caught this fashionista at one of the Fall 2010 shows wearing this awesome Venetian mini blind mini dress with a shrunken leather jacket, and chain shoulder bag complete with blinging headband and bib necklace. She’s hitting pretty much every trend of the season — and she’s pulling it off rather nicely.

When Jamaican-born Canadian model Stacey McKenzie first leveled her piercing stare at the cameras for Benetton’s United Colors campaign, she struck a chord — at least within me (and Jean-Paul Gaultier and Thierry Mugler and Alexander McQueen and Betsey Johnson whom she’s also worked with). What I loved about Stacey was her brave distinction in an industry where blondes and freckles were not usually on black faces, so when I saw her at the Arise Magazine Fall 2010 show after party, I had a crazy fan moment. It was nice to see that over a decade later in her blazer, wild print leggings, shoulder-grazing feather earrings, and metallic turquoise quilted clutch she’s still fearless.

Maybe it’s because I never dated a boy with a Letterman jacket, but I’ve been obsessed with Statement Sweaters — literally sweaters with slogans and wording on them. (See our #3 pick from the Milan Spring 2011 shows.) This is why I snapped Fashion Editor Lynn Yaeger in her “Baby Lynnie” cardi. Of course, I love her Fendi tote too.

Don’t know whether to say “vroom” or “meow” about this look I snapped actress Mena Suvari rocking at Catherine Malandrino’s Fall 2010 presentation. Appreciate the combination of her metallic leather jacket with driving gloves, animal print bag, and Snooki pouf. It’s “Snooki Chic” before Snooki was chic. Cool.
