According to the NY Daily News, Beyonce checked into Manhattan’s Lenox Hill Hospital under the name “Ingrid Jackson” on Saturday January 7th and rented out the hospital’s entire fourth floor to give birth to her first child.  Employees were allegedly asked to turn in their cell phones, and security cameras were taped up to prevent images from leaking. There was initially some confusion as to whether the girl’s name was “Blue Ivy” or “Ivy Blue” – Gwyneth Paltrow tweeted to confirm the newborn’s name is Blue Ivy. Beyonce’s sister Solange tweeted presumably of her newborn niece: “the most beautiful girl in the world.”

Looks like Beyoncé and Jay-Z are receiving a late Christmas present! Beyoncé is said to be giving birth at any moment! To ensure she could deliver in peace, it’s said that Beyoncé booked half of the Labor and Delivery Suite of New York’s Luke Roosevelt Hospital!

I can’t wait to see this beautiful baby girl which will be set for greatness! Congratulations Beyoncé and Jay-z! I hope you deliver a healthy child and start your 2012 with a cute little one!

Stylecaster‘s recent story on Amber Rose has me thinking how many empires have been built playing the Madonna(as in Virgin Mother)-Whore game. Madonna (the singer) based her image on the dichotomy. Beyonce is a master at it, somehow managing to perform stripteases on video and stage, yet keep her image wholesome enough to receive White House invitations. And now, it seems Amber Rose is playing her hand too — trading the poom-poom shorts, bustiers, and skintight jumpsuits she was often photographed wearing while traveling the world with former boyfriend Kanye West, to present her “softer side” in high collars and mid-calf lengths.

Of course, the selling point remains the shock of seeing her “like you’ve never seen her before” with the requisite notes about how surprisingly “demure”, “sweet”, and “polite” she is. Cue the “shy” admission that she has ambitions beyond being perceived as a sex symbol.

But the real story here is, though we’ve read/heard this story in a myriad of incarnations, it remains a reliably successful narrative. Shocker: A woman who wears skintight clothes one day, is not a total whore; the lady who wears a plaid skirt that falls below the knees isn’t singing “Ave Maria” all day. And yet the game of it all is, even though we all know this, we play along anyway.

Impending motherhood seems to be making Beyonce a lot less private. Just two months after revealing the “love growing inside of [her]” at the MTV VMAs,  Beyonce has revealed what may be the gown she wore the day she and Jay-Z tied the knot. In her new video “I Was Here (Live at the Roseland)”, the singer takes viewers through a chronological visual of her life from her local singing contest days to present. Watch the video below for a pint-size Beyonce’s speech “I love you, Houston!” and a peak at her wedding dress. The star still kept something for herself — no full-length shot, no shoes. Maybe we’ll find that out when the baby’s born.
