Street Style

Jason Jean started shooting mid-2008 after several years in the public accounting industry. After being diagnosed with juvenile glaucoma and becoming partially blind, he decided to explore his creative side. CitizenCouture.com was thus established shortly after Fall 2009 New York Fashion Week, focused on exploring and capturing fashion inspirations and personalities from around the world.

In December 2011, I started photographing the User’s Guide to Style for Allure, starting with their March 2012 issue. This section features six selected women to take an article of clothing and make it their own. Although the shoot was quite fun, it was a little of a challenge capturing spring looks in the winter. I’m just glad that all six women were brave and willing to endure the weather that day.

Rebel with a Cause

Leather jacket, slicked back hair and black clothing are ingredients for a rebel look….well at least like the ‘Greasers’ in Grease. Go ahead and pull off this classically edgy look with ease. Model, Freja Beha Erichsen rocks this look–you definitely don’t want to mess with her.

Musically Inclined: Yuna Zarai

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Yuna as part of Allure’s Style Guide section. What I love about shooting this section is the opportunity to connect with individuals from different backgrounds and getting to learn a little more beyond the photo. Needless to say, I’ve spent the last few weeks observing her music and found this singer/songwriter incredibly talented. Make sure you check out her newly release album, “Yuna”, and the upcoming issue of Allure Magazine!

Floral Everywhere!

My favorite part about May is seeing flowers everywhere! Finally, they are back and in full bloom. Why not carry that same enthusiasm in your outfit choice. From tops to bottoms, florals are everywhere this season.

Gita Guldal, an interior architect/designer, jewelry designer and blogger, takes the floral trend and runs with it. Follow her footsteps and test boundaries with the prints. You never know how much success you will have!

Mix Colors for a Fun Look

Take a bunch of bright colors and throw them together in your outfit. You’ll look fun, cute and chic all at the same time. Elisa Nalin (Stylist / Fashion Consultant) plays with color well. She is able to mix with the right about of flare that doesn’t overwhelm.

Take a shot at it!

Classic Staple: 3-Piece Suit

Every man needs to own, wear and love a three piece suit. It’s classic and chic–the combination a man should aspire to attain…at least that’s what I aspire to achieve. Justin O’Shea (Buying Director, MyTheresa) wears his navy suit with complete sophistication.

Bright Blue For You

If you’ve been reading the past posts on Fly & Mighty and look out for the lastest trends, you know colored denim is the biggest trend this season. It’s also the most fun!

Even though red is color seen the most this season (by celebs and fashionistas), bright blue is a close second. Go bold with a bright blue–you’ll obtain more compliments on the color than you can count! Don’t you just want to tell Justine Couvillion (above) that her pants rock?

Go Wide

Everyone always wear a form of a skinny jeans. Change it up with wide leg pants. It will set you apart and it will make a nice addition to your closet. Cylan Atinc (freelance stylist) chose a burnt orange. Follow her style and go for a color that represents you.

Miroslava Duma Kills It in Chanel

Miroslava Duma, the editor/founder of Buro 24/7 nails coat couture in this Chanel coat. It’s so elegant and fun. The giant double C doesn’t hurt the eyes either.

What would you pair with this coat?

Make a statement with a bold lip color. It brings a pop to any look. Blogger, Peony Lim, went for a bold red that certainly draws attention to her beautiful face.
