Fly Nation

This is not a blog. Okay, technically it is, but the point is, we didn’t create it to dispense lofty fashion counsel from behind oversized Jackie O shades. We built it because we ultimately want to interact with a Fly Nation of fashion lovers of every stripe (or floral). So whether you’re a professional fashion personality, card-carrying fashionista, or a closet shopaholic, if there’s an insane designer you think EVERYONE should check out, a great article/blog post you want to share/rant about, or you simply need to point out how crazy amazing Ann Curry’s been looking on the Today Show lately, this is the place to blog it—or read all about it!

Giada Looking Cute in SoHo

giada de laurentiis is chic in soho

Here’s one of my favorite Food Network chefs, Giada De Laurentiis! I have to admit, when I first saw Giada on TV, I was like, “Does this woman even taste her own food?” I wasn’t sure because Giada is SO thin. She’s still thin, but having made a number of her recipes, I don’t care if she eats her own food or not. Every recipes of hers I’ve tried has been amazing.

Here’s Giada looking chic in SoHo. LOVE her coat! And I NEED those boots- LOL. Not only is Giada a great cook, she has great fashion sense. As you can probably tell, I’m a big fan. Are you?

NYFW Spring 2013: Naeem Khan

Naeem Khan’s 2013 collections is the epitome of luxury. You will look like a million bucks in every single look.

The collection spawns elegant floral prints, bold colors and glorious gowns of elegance. I see many of them Oscar-dress worthy of our favorite starlets. Who do you want to rock these gowns?

NYFW Spring 2013: Monique Lhuillier

Purple, teal and metallic, OH MY! Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2013 Collection is consistent with her past–it’s beyond fabulous. Last season she stuck with more solid colors. I am glad she brought some amazing prints to her Spring line. I do think she the colors are a little dark for spring, but the cuts and silhouettes are so beautiful, you can’t do anything but love. Plus, she kept on trend with peplum!

Now, where is the next gala so these dresses can be worn and drooled over?

NYFW S/S 2013: Hervé Léger By Max Azria

Holy gorgeous! Hervé Léger By Max Azria Spring 2013 collection has an edgy daintiness. I think I need to explain. The collection sports leather harnesses and intertwining prints yet the crafted details are so elegant and sophisticated. The intertwining of patterns are perfection. I think you just need to see to understand fully!

NYFW S/S 2013: Todd Snyder

Anything Todd Snyder creates, I want. Todd Snyder’s Spring 2013 collection remains (as always) standard menswear. However,  the clothing is so well thought out that is makes it unique. Every look in the presentation I want to wear and rock every single day.
For the most part, the collection stay safe with color. There are a few pops of orange but stone, navy, olive and gray compose most of the collection. I would have liked to see a little more zest, but the collection flows together well so a pop of color would have been too abrupt.
I love the clothing because you look put together yet fun. Who doesn’t want to look like that? It’s no wonder Todd Snyder was named the Best New Menswear Designer in America!

NYFW S/S 2013: General Idea

I’m a big fan of classic menswear but with a punch of color and fun prints. General Idea’s Spring 2013 collections takes this twist on menswear to a new level. The collection features denims, funky prints and this amazing mustard yellow color. This is not a typical menswear collection.

The collection is rugged so do not expect to wear the looks at a formal event. It’s meant to be fun and different from your everyday attire. If you’re looking to get noticed, these are the clothes for you!

Khloe Kardashian May Be the Next ‘X-Factor’ Host

khloe kardashian frontrunner to be new x factor host

Khloe Kardashian reportedly is the frontrunner to be the new host for ‘X Factor.’ Khloe is said to have impressed the powers that be with her screen test, including executive producer Simon Cowell. Simon also reportedly thinks Khloe will draw in younger viewers. A source told TMZ:

“There’s at least an 85% chance she’ll get the job.”

Eighty-five percent chance: not bad odds at all! Would you like to see Khloe as the new host for ‘X Factor’? The Kardashians are going to take over the planet eventually!

NYFW S/S 2013: Tadashi Soji

Filled with lace, Tadashi Soji’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection is dainty and flirty. You can feel extremely sexy through the sheer but pretty with the lace. It was cute collection and definitely different from Tadashi Soji’s collections in the past. There were a few looks that I was not a fan of (they reminded me of a cowgirl) but overall it was quite pretty!
