December is, like, so socially overwhelming. Personally, I’m dealing with Christmas, my 24th birthday, Hanukkah (shout out to all my fellow half Jews), New Year’s parties, work holiday functions, friend’s holiday get togethers and Britney Spears’ 30th Birthday. And while all of these celebrations would love to get a Tom Ford suit of their own, it’s just not going to happen.
But don’t let your social obligations this year cause you fashion anxiety – Lauren Conrad says so. Like re-gifting, re-wearing is in this season. Here are the steps you need to take to make this work:
1. Invest in one great piece. I’m going to choose this $850 sequined blazer by Unconditional.

2. Accessorize! Maybe if I wear a muted tie with this blazer at my work holiday party, my coworker will never notice I’m also wearing the blazer when she comes to my birthday party.
3. Layer! Maybe if I gingerly wrap a bohemian scarf around my neck, it will tone down the sequins so that you don’t really notice the sparkle in Facebook photos from New Years next to the tagged photo of me in the blazer at my friend’s wine and cheese party a few weeks earlier.
4. Blame Lauren Conrad when people start whispering about you at one of your many events.
Alright, so maybe we’re being a bit dramatic and Lauren Conrad does have a point (or a new line for Paper Crown to hawk). Maybe a sequined blazer isn’t the best piece for repeated value…but it certainly is festive.
