Is Snooki Pregnant?

WHOA! The New York Post reports that the rumors that Snooki is pregnant are true, despite the reality TV personality denying them earlier this month. Sources tell the Post that Snooki is planning to “become the next Kourtney Kardashian.”

Snooki reportedly has already brokered a deal to make the big announcement on the cover of Us Weekly. The news reportedly had MTV scrambling, since she and J-Woww just began taping their new reality TV show.

“MTV went into crisis mode after they found out. They’re trying to hide it because it would greatly affect the creative direction of the show. ”

Both MTV and Snooki declined to comment. I have to admit, this news has me… scared. But then, look at the 180 Nicole Richie did when shebecame a mom! So who knows? Assuming this story is even true. We’ll know soon enough.

Yearning for Pastels

To re-open a discussion that started early last week and proceed to throw some sugar over a harsh reality that mandates our feet head in a fairly, how you say, squishy direction that does not condone comfort: repellers on a budget, unite! Well, not necessarily on a budget, but above you’ll find two photos depicting the saturated brilliance of Louis Vuitton’s S/S 2012 shoes. They look uncomfortable, it doesn’t take a podiatrist to recognize swelling ankles and an in-rare-form arch but then again when has fashion ever been about utility other than that time utility jackets made a comeback, still perpetuating, ya di ya da blee bloo bla. Question mark here. Anyway, my repel-o-meter hypothesizes that these shoes will run for more or less one billion dollars come time to consume and when that happens, you’ll look into your wallet and wonder: is dinner really all that important this month? You’ll may say no now but indeed, it is, and so I give you:

The relinquishment of one week’s food! Stuart Weitzman’s pastel silver pointed toe Mary-Janes.Quench pastel’s thirst, dress thematically come Easter, and enjoy this month’s dinner. Yes, you’ll take a dip, they’re still $375 but in the grand scheme of toe cleavage, pointed toes and ambiguous straps wherever you please, what’s that got to do with it?

My 5 Best Dressed From Awards Season 2012!

With awards season over, what better way to roll up the red carpet than with a list of my favorite celeb dresses at this season’s award shows. This year we saw a lot of old Hollywood glamour mixed with some of today’s newest trends, so let’s dig in!

5. It would be impossible to not include the ever-glamorous Carrie Underwood on a best dressed list. She gets my number five spot for this stunning number she wore to this year’s Grammy Awards. I love the low ponytail which accentuated the low back of the gown — this is head to toe (and front to back) glamour! Carrie truly shined like a star in this long sleeve Gomez-Garcia gown.

4. Emma Stone has made it very clear that she has put her Super Bad days behind her!  Clearly born to walk the red carpet, Emma wore this beautiful two-tone Lanvin dress to the Golden Globes. What I love most about this look is the contrast between the darkness of her smoky eyes, the dark color of the gown, and her fair skin tone. I think it brings out her natural beauty. Definitely my favorite from the Globes this year!

3. Zoe Saldana stole the show at the SAG Awards in this chic Givenchy Haute Couture gown. The all white gown was paired with Tiffany Jewlery to complete this classic look.  It is clear that Zoe has a flair for fashion and proves it again on the red carpet.

2. Okay, so I had to put Adele on this list, but can you really blame me? The hair, the makeup, the dress, can we say perfection!  Wearing a sparkling black Giorgio Armani dress, Adele proved she has everything it takes to achieve that classic Hollywood glamour every time she hits the red carpet! Okay, enough about my love for Adele, and let’s get to the good stuff, #1!

1. Let’s call this the “slit” heard around the world. Angelina Jolie was the talk of the Oscars in this sexy, “solo” leg revealing Atelier Versace dress. This is without a doubt the most talked about dress from awards show season, which earns its rank at #1 on my list.

Cheers to some of the best red carpet looks of the season, and to many fabulous seasons to come!

Fly or ‘Bye?: Jennifer Aniston’s Dress

Jennifer Aniston named her puppy after ‘Sophie’s Choice’. I can’t even write that movie title without getting a chill. That movie was so… powerful!

While choosing a puppy from an adoption shelter, Jen said she was reminded of the famed film.

“We were [at the shelter] for three hours. I was almostwalking out with three puppies. That’s why we named her Sophie, because it was [like] ‘Sophie’s Choice’. I was crying – it was so hard.”

It’s not really the same thing… but I guess I see what she means.

She and boyfriend Justin Theroux opted for a pit bull mix. The actress told ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’:

“They were left in a box in front of a shelter – so heartbreaking. So we ran over. Sophie came right up to us. That was sort of a big indicator – they choose you.”

Love my little pooches – can’t imagine life without them.

The Multi-Use Wrap Bracelet

Hermes wrap bracelet, $290. Skull by DL & Co.

They say a bracelet goes a long way. Just kidding, I’ve never heard that but even if it were a saying, I’d imagine it pertained exclusively to those of the wrapped variety. Lucky fo’us, we are dissecting just that in today’s round of Investment Piece. I speculate this one makes a bit more sense than say, the bright yellow mini skirt slash makeshift peplum did. Even so, calculating cost per wear is a fun game. I’ll take this a step further and share an anecdote that drove my father to conclude it costs him $20 a day just to get dressed for work. Nevermind the former half of that sentence, feed from the moral. On to the photographed: you probably look at this and think, bracelet. You aren’t wrong.

That’s how the accessory is sold: as a bracelet. Contemplate the notion of its length though. Shouldn’t a triple wrap bracelet function as say, an ankle bracelet or double wrap choker or single wrap belt? Indeed, today I prove the once dubbed extranoeous $290 spent on a measly bracelet can actually take you fairly far in matters of limbs that party.

It all started one weekday afternoon when a sartorial craving for adorned ankles reared its head. This was before fashion week, I’d taken note of the early integration of ankle straps and cuffs to shoes and fell upon this bracelet resting on my arm in a manner not unlike the above photographed. I unbuckled that shit and began to experiment. It worked most perfectly, eureka. This then got me thinking: where else can I insert this little guy.

So I attempted to choke myself and much to my pleasure: failed. All I’d successfully done, you see, was emulate the contents of Charlotte Ronson’s Spring/Summer collection, Nina Ricci’s pre-fall collection, the nineties at large. Chokers are having their moment again, grab life by the aorta. Then finally, the bracelet took me to my waist line.

Now, I understand this method of wrap is a little ambiguous and perhaps not all that reasonable for everyone but bare in mind I wrapped this shit around the skinniest spot I could find in the stomach region. Breaths weren’t particularly easy to take.

But the general vibe felt right. Do also note these photographs were shot a mere two weeks before the inception of New York Fashion Week. The salute to peplum should feel a lot more genuine once that soundbite is successfully consumed. And on to the fun part, calculations! Figure you wear the initial Hermes accessory twenty five times as a bracelet, fifteen times as an ankle bracelet, ten times as a choker and once as a belt–you know, for the sake of maintaining good health–that’s a collective fifty one wears which ultimately leaves the bracelet standing at $5 per wear. Those are rough numbers, you’ll likely wear it more and that means that by the end of your day, Hermes is practically paying you. See that, man repellers always win.
