Nicholas K’s spring 2011 collection, shown in Lincoln Center’s Studio, was a study in “barracks chic” as military references were in abundance, evoking a very M*A*S*H vibe. Like the uniforms worn on the award-winning, long-running ’70s series, the palette was khaki, grey, sand, brown, and black. The accessories: berets (many of ‘em green) and combat boots. The silhouettes: hooded, drapey, loose. The details: leather lace ties, raw edge bandeaus, stripes, and big box plaids.
No must-haves here, but I can definitely see one of the hooded knits or anoraks in my closet — especially since military is so huge right now. And can we talk about the color-lens aviators?!! love…
