Toni Maticevski’s collection of svelte pencil skirts, and drapey architectural gowns festooned with cumulus layers of tulle and organza flowers is another strong interpretation of a surfacing trend in the spring 2010 collections that have showed thus far: the new romance. Using painterly prints, and heavy-handed girly frills — ruffles, laces, florettes… — designers are presenting a new vision for romance that is as tough as it is sentimental. Loved this one.
