Just Like Us: Michelle Obama Invests In (& Repeats) Her Clothes

Michelle_Obama_Black_History_Month_at_White_House_Bluefly_blog_flypaper-200.jpgWe’ve been following Michelle Obama’s wardrobe choices pretty closely and one of the things we think is so cool is that the First Lady actually re-purposes her clothes. Just like us! The green patent Jimmy Choos she wore on Inauguration day are the same shoes she wore to a lunch with Jill Biden, Washington, DC mayor, Adrian Fenty and his wife. Yesterday, at a St. Patrick’s Day tour of YouthBuild Americorps’ energy efficient home construction project, the First Lady wore the same Nina Ricci twinset that she wore under her Inauguration Day Isabel Toledo ensemble. And as you can see up top and below, the tweed skirt she was photographed in for the March issue of Vogue is the same skirt she rocked, hosting local Washington, DC 6th and 7th graders at a Black History Month event in the White House’s East Room.
Definitely an endorsement for investing in quality. Jimmy Choo shoes, for example, ain’t cheap, but you can wear them so much more that, in the end, they end up being more affordable than a pair that falls apart after just a few wears. Ditto on a bag or piece of clothing. It’s all about investing in quality — and getting it for 40% off retail, of course, which you can ALWAYS do on Bluefly.
