Rumors have been flying all over the blogosphere that our President-Elect purchased a $30K diamond ring for Michelle Obama as a ‘thank you’ gift for her support over the grueling 2-year campaign that resulted in his win. But the truth is he didn’t… which would make us tres disappointed if we were Michelle. Not that she was in it for the bling, but a lil’ ‘thank you’ gift would be nice….
So, Mr. President-Elect, please accept our humble gift suggestions. Rest assured, all of them are recession appropriate.
We think Michelle would love:
1. A Chanel brooch — the brighter the better. In practically every campaign photo we saw her in, she was wearing some sort of festive brooch or pin. This Christmas, make it Chanel.
Bonus: You know she’ll wear it close to her heart.
2. A headband for those days when she doesn’t feel like wearing her hair out, which she likes to do when she’s not having an official meeting or speaking publicly.
3. A fab pair of comfy evening flats. She’s prolly already told you she needs a pair, Mr. President-Elect, since she’s been attending fundraising galas and now congratulatory get-togethers non-stop. With holiday party season heating up, maybe this is the time to get her a pair so she can break ‘em in for the Inauguration Ball. You know she is going to be on her feet all that night and no one will see that she’s wearing flats under the gown she chooses to wear.
