The ever-expanding waistlines of most Americans hasn’t stopped designers from making clothes for ever-shrinking starlets. Petite sizes are nothing new, but when Nicole Miller introduced “subzero” sizes, one wonders what’s really going on. “That average 155 pound woman should be wearing a size 16,” one sizing expert told Newsweek. “But thanks to vanity-sizing, she’s probably buying a size 10 or 12.”
