Harper’s Bazaar is the only fashion mag to make the top ten of the American Society of Magazine Editors best magazine covers from the past 40 years, with this 1992 cover featuring Linda Evangelista. Nudity did well (bare-bootied John Lennon curled around Yoko Ono on the cover of Rolling Stone got the top spot, while a naked and pregnant Demi Moore on Vanity Fair was #2), as did 9/11-related covers. Now if Harper’s could just return to their glory days…
