Simon Doonan noticed that Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers’ 80s corporate style is actually rather fashion forward. “Take a long, hard look at the recent New York collections and you will see that Ms. Miers is, horror of horrors, totally spring 2006,” Doonan wrote in this week’s New York Observer. Miers’ buttoned-up suits match the ironic-yet-conservative looks from Marc Jacobs (above), Proenza Schouler and Tuleh. Must we revisit the power suit so soon?
