With help from a golden arch-backed statuette, designer Vera Wang has proved that you can climb successfully from the bridal design dungeon into the world of high fashion. Wang picked up the women’s wear designer of the year at the Council of Fashion Designers of America award ceremony last night. “Even at my age dreams in life can really come true,” Wang said, sounding very much the blushing bride.
